Living through the Anthropocene: Paul Kingsnorth Documentary

Join us as we watch a documentary and discuss it over the dinner table. On the menu is a sweet potato, kale and lentil stew for the mains, wine or orange juice for drinks, and something sweet to follow. The documentary is about Paul Kingsnorth, a "recovering environmentalist" who believes that efforts to change how the (post)modern world relates to the natural world is now impossible, and that the environmental movement has capitulated to a capitalist logic, in which everything relevant about nature can be quantified and manipulated through scientific innovation. He is pessimistic about any kind of systemic ecological change, and has thus turned his attention to a more personal question: how to live well despite this?
