The Untold Stories of Entrepreneurship

Join me as we have an evening together with delicious food and wine (and whisky for those that prefer) sharing those stories which we don’t share on Facebook, those we don’t share with friends, and those we definitely don’t share with the staff we employ (and often wonder how we will cover their next pay check) - the untold stories of Entrepreneurship. I am an entrepreneur in the fuel retail space having co-founded PetroCONNECT a number of years ago. I enjoy developing innovative solutions to problems and developing business units that bring value to our stakeholders. I developed a passion for business from an early age and continue to enjoy the space. I have also bought and opened a number of service stations over the years. The struggles of being an Entrepreneur in general are tough but in South Africa today, the conditions we operate in have become increasingly tougher and we have to navigate unprecedented conditions. We know that everyone looks at us from the outside and thinks some of these things - “it must be great to go on holiday when they want”, “they must be earning so much money”, “did you see their house and car?”, “Must be great not having to answer to anyone”, “easy life going home at 3pm”. It is these individuals that forget what really goes on behind closed doors and the blood, sweat and tears behind the businesses and individuals that keep the economy ticking in South Africa. Let’s connect, let’s share the war stories and let’s learn from each others untold stories of Entrepreneurship.
